Custom SSL certificate

The client can provide an SSL certificate purchased from an external vendor, which can be used to enable the HTTPS protocol for connections to their application while still using their own domain.

Because only one certificate can be installed on a single IP address, this solution requires the client to purchase an additional dedicated IP address. Such a request can be sent to pomoc@hostedwindows.pl

After the IP address has been purchased, if the client requests it, a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) is generated on the server. Many certificate providers require a CSR file to issue a certificate, although this is not always necessary.

Once the certificate has been purchased and generated, the certificate file together with the public key must be sent back to us at pomoc@hostedwindows.pl; it will then be installed on the server and can be assigned to the client’s site.

Shared SSL folders

Some of our clients need to make their application available via an encrypted https connection.

The panel provides the Shared SSL Folders feature.

To add such a folder, in the Web & Applications section select Shared SSL Folders:

Next choose Add.

Fill in the fields below as required and finally click Create Folder.

After the SSL folder is created a summary window with further settings appears.

This feature creates a folder within a domain provided by us that points to a directory inside the client’s hosting space:

The drawback of this solution is the inability to use your own domain for the site.
